Transforming the economic lives of people living in poverty
Results from a rigorous seven-year evaluation of BRAC’s Ultra-Poor Graduation programme in Bangladesh reveal that participants increase their earnings by 37% and improve their consumption, savings, and asset accumulation. The programme yields lasting results, with gains sustained years after the programme ends.
Reducing child mortality in the last mile: Experimental evidence on community health promoters in Uganda
Millions of children die from preventable diseases every year in the countries where BRAC operates. A rigorous evaluation of our community health worker programme in partnership with Living Goods in Uganda showed that the programme reduced child mortality by 27 percent and infant mortality by 33 percent.
Women's empowerment in action: Evidence from a randomised control trial in Africa
A rigorous evaluation of BRAC’s Empowerment and Livelihoods for Adolescents (ELA) programme in Uganda found that girls in villages with ELA clubs were almost 50% more likely to engage in income-generating activities and were significantly more likely to delay marriage and pregnancy.
