Lewis Temple to step down as BRAC UK Chief Executive

Lewis Temple signing an MoU

London, 23rd November 2023 – BRAC UK has announced that Chief Executive, Lewis Temple, will be stepping down from his role at the end of the year after over 9 years of service.

Lewis has overseen a substantial increase in the size and output of BRAC’s London team, including the introduction of a successful advocacy programme and a significant uplift in the number of fundraising partnerships across Europe providing vital resources for BRAC’s programmes across the world.

“I am proud to have represented BRAC for such a long period of time. It is a truly remarkable organisation that has demonstrated time and again that rare ability to achieve impact at scale through its programmes. I am honoured to have been part of BRAC’s journey.”

“However, I feel the time is right for me to hand the reigns to someone else, who will hopefully bring a fresh perspective as BRAC looks to significantly increase its fundraising, policy and communications efforts across Europe over the coming years.”

Jerome Oberreit, BRAC’s Global Executive Director, reflected on Mr Temple’s contribution to BRAC. “Lewis has been a highly valued member of BRAC’s Extended Executive Management Team at a time when we are putting in place global governance systems to set BRAC up for the future. Lewis has not only represented the London office effectively, he has truly been a valued member of the BRAC family across the globe and will be missed.”

Ken Caldwell, Chair of the Board of Trustees at BRAC UK, thanked Mr Temple for his service. “I have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Lewis. I thank him, on behalf of the board of trustees, for his leadership of the London office. We wish him well for the future and know he will continue to provide leadership and guidance for the team until the end of 2023.”

A recruitment process is underway for an Executive Director (Europe). An announcement will be made once that role has been successfully filled.
