BRAC and Hempel Foundation partner up to provide quality education
We are excited to announce our new partnership with Hempel Foundation to provide quality primary education to children who are currently out of school in northern Bangladesh.
BRAC started working in education in 1985. Our high quality, affordable, scalable schooling model has made it one of the world’s largest providers of secular, private education. Our holistic approach to lifelong learning, addressing educational needs from early childhood to higher academic levels supported over 15 million students across five countries to graduate to date. We are happy to have teamed up with the Hempel Foundation to create the biggest possible impact by empowering children through education.
Our new project, which will be implemented in Kurigram, Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts, will focus on children aged 7-10 who are currently out of school. A large percentage of school-aged children in those areas are currently not enrolled and with Covid-19 even more children are expected to drop out of school.
Through an accelerated learning programme and providing teachers with high-quality training by introducing education-technology, this project will enable children to bridge learning gaps and transition to government schools with the aim of completing the primary education cycle.
