Bangladesh is calling. Stand with us as we stand beside Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is one of the most climate-vulnerable countries in the world, with annual flooding disproportionately affecting the poorest communities. Since 1998 flooding has displaced 30 million people – 32% of Bangladesh’s population.
For decades, BRAC has respond worked hand in hand with local communities to respond to climate emergency through the provision of food aid, shelter and cash support for families.
Join us in the fight against climate devastation in Bangladesh.
Together we can rebuild communities, protect vulnerable populations, and secure food security for millions affected by the climate disasters.
Together we can rebuild communities devastated by flooding in Bangladesh.
In 2024, Bangladesh experienced its worst flooding in three decades, displacing 5.6 million people across 11 districts, predominantly in rural areas. The livelihoods of countless individuals have been devastated exacerbating poverty and food insecurity for the most vulnerable communities.
In response, BRAC deployed a 5,000-person team to distribute over 35,000 food packets, 13.78 metric tonnes of cattle feed, and 13,230 sanitary napkin packets. Seven medical teams and a mobile water treatment plant were also mobilized to the hardest-hit areas.
The long-term impacts of the 2024 flooding in Bangladesh will be profound, with lasting effects on the livelihoods and food security of millions. In addition to providing immediate relief, BRAC is committed to working with communities to rebuild their livelihoods and strengthen their resilience to future climate shocks.
