‘Don’t forget the Rohingya’

Brussels, Belgium – 30th April 2019

Back in early January BRAC brought the Rohingya Crisis to the centre of European democracy by hosting an exhibition at the European Parliament building in Brussels.

The exhibition, featuring artwork from British artist Hannah Rose Thomas and the #SpaceOnEarth campaign by Ogilvy, shone a spotlight on the crisis so that policy makers do not forget the Rohingya community, over 1 Million of whom have been forced out of Myanmar and into the Cox’s Bazar area of Bangladesh since August 2017.

Baroness Mobarik, Conservative MEP for Scotland, in association with the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, sponsored the exhibition. Below is a video featuring interviews with Baroness Mobarik MEP, Rupert Matthews MEP and Jean Lambert MEP. In it they outline their thoughts on solutions to the crisis and explain how they reacted to the exhibition.
