Jonathan Pryce delivers the BRAC BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal this weekend
We were extremely excited to work with Game of Thrones star and acclaimed West End actor Jonathan Pryce to produce a BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal for BRAC that will be broadcast on Easter Sunday at 7.55am and 9.26pm and repeated on Thursday 31st March at 3.27pm. Please put the date in your diary and if you miss it, you can listen again at the BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal website here.
Jonathan says ”
I am very happy to be supporting BRAC because it is a charity that exists to help people to help themselves. It gets people out of poverty and helps them stay out of poverty. It’s an organisation that was founded in Bangladesh and I think that’s very important.”
The money raised through the appeal will support women and their families in Bangladesh to get out of extreme poverty. There are still approximately 28 million people living in extreme poverty in Bangladesh. Our targeting the ultra-poor work is carefully designed to put women on an upward trajectory by giving them the tools and support that they need to escape low wage wage labour and start their own enterprises. Through intensive mentoring women grow in confidence and are able to sustain their earnings well into the future. Find out more about our work here
